DIY t-shirt necklace
Came across this darling idea in a magazine.... dare me to try. It reminded me of a fashion blog that I check out from time to time, Apparellel. She makes cute tanks and dresses out of old t-shirts & I loved the idea of re-using them to create new outfits.
So here is my version of the DIY t-shirt trick. So fun, simple & creative.
Start with a simple t-shirt. I used this baby doll tank that has been hanging in my closet for years, know I won't give it away, and know I won't ever wear it again. Know what I mean?
Lay the t-shirt flat out & start cutting into strips until you reach the top.
Take the strips one by one & gently pull them until they start to curl. Lay them all flat & together by the seams to form a long necklace.
Then take the bottom seam and double loop it to put all the seams together at the top.
I used a scrap peice of material & looped it around to cover the seams, which will be behind your neck.
Then put the 'necklace' around your neck.
