Projects

I bought an antique chest of drawers at a thrift shop about a month ago, with the intention of refurbishing it myself...... Ha!! It turned out to be a much bigger project than I expected, and being 7 months pregnant in the dead of Summer doesn't help much.

My sweet hubby ended up taking on the project and did an amazing job. I really wanted to keep the original wood and finish, but it was so nicked and banged up that he ended up sanding the entire thing completely down and painting it.

The drawer inside was completely broken, so he ended up putting that back together again.

I chose a golden mustard color which looks darling next to our baby blue wall color.

The dark hardware is all original, and the crystal ones on the top drawer are new. I've been eyeing some darling drawer pulls on Anthropologie which I'll most likely be purchasing though.

Thanks to my amazing hubby for taking on this tedious project and doing such a great job!!

This chair was purchased by my Mom years ago at a yard sale for $5....... I wish we had taken a before picture! The material was a mess. All torn up and faded, a light pink color.

I picked out this fabric and we had it recovered..... doesn't it look amazing? I'm really excited about it, and love having it in our family room!

Don't forget about Bella's Vintage Market this Saturday July 9th, 2011 at Wheeler Farm from 10:00-4:00. Witty Vintage will have a booth, and my Mom will also be selling her baby onesies!

Delicious Decadent Cakes by Audrey

My talented friend Audrey makes amazing cakes.

She hand cuts and designs everything herself and

does custom orders. Just give her a theme

and she takes it from there. She's so creative!

She made this mini topsy turvy cake for my little girl

Harlowe's 2nd birthday.

Check out her website for pictures of more of her cakes
and how to order!

Flea Market season

I stopped by a little flea market in Sugarhouse

last weekend. I picked up a few witty items and

got to thinking about how fun it would be to sell my vintage at a flea market......

well a couple days later, I received an email

from a girl named Megan, she found my Etsy shop

online and invited me to be a part of her

flea market in July!

It is going to be a large event held at Wheeler Farm

on Saturday July 9th

from 10:00-4:00

It's called Bella's Vintage Market

Admission is $3

and there will booths selling vintage

antique and handmade items.

I finally got around to making a couple dessert

stands..... I've been wanting to do

them for a while and have just been so sick

in this pregancy! I'm finally starting to

feel better... the nausea is not quite as often.

I've had these vintage hand painted plates
for over a year now....

And I'm glad to finally be getting around
to making something of them.

Here's a little yellow chair I picked up

at Abode's flea market.

Harlowe loves carrying it around

and using it as a stepping stool to get

to things she shouldn't:)

Naughty gal.

I also picked up this vintage 1950's

toy box!

Super cute.....

I'll be putting it in the

new baby's room.

Be sure to stop by Witty Vintage's booth

at Bella's Vintage Market

this Summer!

Retro Indie Wedding

A girl I used to work with is engaged, and she
contacted me cause she really wants to do a
vintage - indie - retro
themed wedding.....
(I was intrigued)
She said she was thinking:
tea cups, jam jar vases & groomsmen in suspenders.

I thought a vintage cake topper would just top it all off

I, personally have a thing for kewpies....

I loved this handmade vintage esque cake topper

(check out her designs on Emilie Friday.com)

Eclectic table setting, very indie set up
featuring mismatched chairs, cups and plates

....and of course, pom pom flowers:)
Milk glass vases are also very beautiful for weddings
and add the perfect vintage touch.
